 | The 36th annual Adams County Heritage Festival will be held at the Gettysburg Area Recreation Park, 545 Long Lane, Gettysburg.
The Adams County Heritage Festival, sponsored by the Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice, celebrates the many cultural traditions of Adams County. The festival’s motto is “Sharing and appreciating the cultures of Adams County through music, food, and art . . . A celebration of unity in our community.” The festival includes musical entertainment, food representing a variety of cuisines, craft vendors and demonstrators, children’s activities, and exhibits by local non-profit agencies. Children can receive passport booklets to be stamped at booths that represent the cultures of many countries. The festival is held annually on the third Sunday of September at the Gettysburg Area Recreation Park. Admission and parking are free. As many as 1200 people have attended it in good weather.
The Festival will include a family bicycle parade, leaving from the main stage at 1 p.m., and following the Biser Trail. Participants should assemble on the basketball court behind the stage around 12:30.
